This week marks the commencement of the 29th Annual Santa for Seniors Christmas drive, a cherished initiative aimed at bringing joy and essential items to the elderly and shut-ins in Lawrence County. The program is set to assist as many as 650 seniors, ensuring they receive not only necessities but also a touch of holiday spirit during this festive season.
Community members are encouraged to contribute by donating nonperishable food items, new fleece clothing, blankets, throws, coats, cleaning supplies, and personal care products. Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at two locations: WLX, situated at 1212 North Locust Avenue, and the Lawrence County Advocate, located at 214 Buffalo Road.
For those interested in applying for assistance, application forms will be made available this week on the Santa for Seniors Facebook page. Additionally, these forms will be featured in the Advocate’s November 26 edition, ensuring that all interested parties have access to the necessary information.
