In a recent announcement, Mr. Michael Adkins, the Director of Schools for Lawrence County, TN, has been honored with the title of South Central CORE Superintendent of the Year. This prestigious recognition comes from the South-Central CORE of School Superintendents, a group encompassing fifteen school districts across thirteen counties. Mr. Adkins has been selected as the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS) representative for the State Superintendent of the Year award.
Mr. Adkins assumed the role of Director of Schools for Lawrence County in June 2020, following a successful tenure as the Principal of Lawrence County High School for twelve years, spanning from 2008 to 2020. Prior to his principalship, he also served as the Assistant Principal at LCHS from 2007 to 2008. His dedication and leadership in the education sector have earned him a place among the nine finalists for the esteemed State Superintendent of the Year award, the recipient of which will be announced later this fall.
