Alabama Transportation Department Launches New System Initiative

The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced the successful completion of a significant project aimed at enhancing traffic management along I-565. This initiative, which comes with a price tag of $5.2 million, spans the stretch between Mooresville Road in Limestone County and U.S. 72 in Huntsville.

As part of this intelligent transportation system project, several key components have been integrated into the roadway infrastructure. Notably, the installation includes two new weather stations designed to provide real-time meteorological data. Additionally, three dynamic message signs have been added to relay important information to drivers, while ten traffic cameras have been strategically placed to monitor conditions and facilitate better traffic flow throughout the corridor.

These advancements are expected to significantly improve the overall driving experience by providing timely updates and enhancing the safety of motorists traveling in this area.
