Applications Now Open for CF&R Citizens Fire Academy

Columbia Fire & Rescue is excited to announce that applications are now open for its upcoming Citizens Fire Academy, scheduled for 2025. This engaging six-week program is designed for adults aged 18 and older, offering a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge and insights into the workings of the fire department. Participants will not only learn about fire safety and emergency response but also have the chance to forge connections within the community.

Throughout the course, attendees will experience a variety of hands-on activities, including live demonstrations of firefighting equipment, CPR training, and guided tours of fire stations. Additionally, the program will feature informative presentations and a practical mock fire scene drill, allowing participants to apply what they have learned in a realistic setting. The academy is set to commence on Monday, August 11, and will continue until October 13.

For those interested in joining this informative and interactive experience, applications can be submitted online at ColumbiaTN.gov or by visiting the City of Columbia Tennessee’s Facebook page. This initiative not only aims to educate citizens but also to highlight the exceptional work carried out by the fire department on a daily basis.
