Arrests Made in Giles County Over Unpaid Construction Labor Disputes

A recent investigation into fraudulent activities has culminated in the arrest of two individuals in Giles County. The inquiry began when a local electrical contractor reached out to the Giles County Sheriff’s Department to report the completion of the second phase of construction on a new residence located on Little Dry Creek Road in Pulaski. The contractor had entered into an agreement with someone who identified himself as John Fritts; however, law enforcement officials suspect that the true identity of this individual is Nicholas Scott Barnes.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the contractor has yet to receive any payment for the work performed, which raises concerns about the legitimacy of the dealings. Furthermore, it has come to light that at least two other contractors who also completed work at the same site have not been compensated for their services. On June 11th, both Ashley Nicole Barnes and Nicholas Scott Barnes were apprehended in connection with these allegations. Notably, Nicholas Barnes was also found to have an outstanding warrant from New York.

Authorities believe that there may be additional victims who have been affected by this situation. Contractors who have worked on the Little Dry Creek Road project and have not received payment from Ashley Barnes, Nicholas Barnes, or the individual known as John Fritts are encouraged to reach out.
