Authorities in Perry Make Two Arrests in Drug-Related Case

Law enforcement authorities in Perry County have announced the arrest of two individuals following a probation search conducted at a residence in Linden on September 7. The operation involved officers from the Tennessee Department of Corrections, the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, and the 32nd Judicial District Drug Task Force. During the search, officers discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and a significant amount of drug paraphernalia.

The individuals taken into custody were identified as Karen Baker and Verna Bastin, both facing multiple drug-related charges in addition to violations of their probation. Following their arrests, the court set Bastin’s bond at $74,500, while Baker’s bond was established at a higher amount of $154,500. The investigation continues as authorities work to address the ongoing issues related to drug use and distribution in the area.
