Authorities Launch Investigation into Pressure Washer Theft in Iron City

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is currently looking into the theft of a pressure washer that occurred at a residence located on Gibson Street in Iron City. This investigation was prompted by a report filed on Saturday, July 12, by a homeowner who had been away from June 27 until July 11. Upon returning to their property, the homeowner discovered that their Craftsman pressure washer was missing.

Surveillance footage from June 30 has provided crucial evidence, showing two male individuals arriving at the garage and carport area. The video captured them loading the pressure washer into their vehicle. Additionally, the footage revealed the suspects attempting to roll a four-wheeler out of the carport, although they ultimately did not take it. They were also seen siphoning gasoline from a can on the property into their own four-wheeler.

The homeowner is in the process of transferring this footage onto a flash drive for the investigators, although it has been confirmed that the video remains accessible for review. Furthermore, the resident recalled a previous incident from April, during which someone cut a cable at the north end of the driveway and stole two old Wisconsin license plates that were being used as markers. The homeowner suspects that these two incidents may be connected and potentially involve the same individuals.

As the investigation continues, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department has yet to make any arrests related to this case. The department is actively pursuing leads to resolve the matter.
