Barbara Mary Wilfong, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 15th, 2025, at her home in Giles County, Tennessee. Born on December 25th, 1931, in Montreal, Canada, Barbara was 93 years old.
Barbara was known for her love of quilting, birdwatching, puzzles, and knitting. She moved to Giles County five years ago to be closer to her family, where she continued to share her warmth and creativity with those around her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Horace L. and Dora Read Leger, and her husband, Cecil Wilfong. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Hummer, Joseph Michael (Catherine) Cesarini, Virginia JoAnn Dillow, and Jerry Steven Cesarini. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Elizabeth Cesarini, Mary Catherine Cesarini Benavides, Nicole Johnson, and Thomas Dillow, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to honor and celebrate Barbara’s life. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Barbara Mary Wilfong. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her love, kindness, and cherished memories.
