Bert Spearman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 22, 1942, in Anderson, South Carolina, Bert’s life was a testament to his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his unwavering faith.
After bravely serving his country in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne, Bert established deep roots in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, where he became a respected member of the community. As the owner of Spearman Realty and Appraisal, he was known for his integrity and commitment to providing the best service to his clients. His expertise and fair dealings left a lasting impact on the real estate industry in the area. He was also the former owner of the Lawrence County Monument Company.
Bert’s service to his community extended beyond his professional life. He made significant contributions as a former Lawrence County Commissioner, where his wisdom and foresight were invaluable to the growth and betterment of Lawrence County. He was also past president of the Rotary Club, the Lawrence County Senior Citizens Club, and on the Railroad Board. A devout member of Calvary Hill Church of God, Bert’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was also a member of The Gideons International and was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. His kind spirit and generous heart were evident to all who knew him. His legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
Family was the center of Bert’s world. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 63 years, Donna Kaye Dorsey Spearman. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and precious memories. He was a guiding light to his son, Andy Spearman, and his daughter, Debbie Scott (married to Barry), both of Lawrenceburg, TN. Bert’s legacy continues through his five grandchildren, Drew Scott, Annalee Scott (Kendriyx), Paitton Scott, Wesley Spearman (Kaleigh), and Jenny Kennedy (Joshua), and his five great-grandchildren, Avery Kennedy, Konner Spearman, Kollin Spearman, Kalvin Spearman, and Kasey Spearman, who all brought immense joy to his life.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Harlbert and Kathleen Louise Powell Spearman, and one daughter, Kerri Ann Spearman Little. His memory will be forever treasured by his family
