Sadly, our beloved mother, Betty Marie Creecy, passed away on April 18th, 2024 at the NHC Nursing Home in Pulaski, TN. Our mother was born in Athens, Alabama on February 14th, 1930 to Lenard Lester Taylor and Geneva Holt Taylor. Mom was the first born followed by 5 brothers. She married John G. Creecy on February 15th, 1947 and their son was born in December 1947, followed by Lester Creecy in September 1949. After living in Elkton, TN and Wheelerton they moved to Pulaski in the early 1950s where Tony Creecy was born in 1959. Mom was descended from early settlers of Limestone and Madison County Alabama and early settlers of Virginia including Captain John Alexander, the founder of Alexandria, Virginia, and LT. Col. William Alexander of the Revolutionary War. Mom was a wonderful mother to her sons and instilled a strong work ethic and high moral character in them. After working at David Lee’s Department store in Pulaski, she became a beautician at her home to be there with her sons. Mom was a devoted Christian and attended Ephesus Church of Christ and for many years the East Hill Church of Christ where she has many friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 from 01:00pm to 02:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, TN.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents and all of her brothers, Carl, Lester, Ronald, Joe, and Terry. Our Dad also preceded mom and a beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Creecy.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy of Nashville, Lester and Tony (Cindy) of Pulaski, her granddaughters, Katherine Creecy and Jenny Lee Robinson (Jordan) and great grandchildren Harper Rose Robinson and Hank Robinson and many nieces and nephews also survive.
