Bobby Porter Ambrose, 85, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System. Born on November 15, 1940, in Maury County, Tennessee, Bobby was a dedicated family man and hardworking individual.
Bobby was a skilled pipefitter welder and a proud member of Local 572 and 798. After retiring, he found joy in outdoor activities such as hunting and bass fishing. He was also a devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and an active member of The Tabernacle Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Chapman, sons Kevin and Kasey Ambrose, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Bobby’s love for his family and friends was evident in his joy for watching his grandkids play and his fondness for sharing stories and jokes.
A visitation will be held at The Tabernacle Church on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place at Summertown Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to The Tabernacle Church or Summertown High School Baseball.
Bobby’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for life will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed.
