Bonnie Joy Bump, 92, of Florence, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Renaissance of Florence. She was a dedicated member of Center Star First Baptist Church and served as the pianist for both Center Star Baptist Church and Killen Baptist Church for 50 years. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bump, Sr., her brother Jesse Duffey, Jr., her sister Nancy Sledge, and her parents, Jesse B. Sr. and Ruth Penny Duffey.
She is survived by her loving children, Kathy Smith (Carter) and Billy Bump, Jr. (Kimberly), as well as her grandchildren, Robyn Podhajser (Frank), Matthew Smith (Alison), Levi Bump (Rebecca), and Liza Andersen (Fiancé, John Marek). She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Tristan and Marissa Podhajser, Easton and Callen Smith, Lily Andersen, Jude Bump, and Ezra Bump, and her sister, Penny Gribble (Newton).
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Elkins East Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 12 PM in the chapel with Bro. Ronnie Jones officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Killen Baptist Cemetery.
