Bonnie N. Dison, a beloved member of the Elgin Crossroads community, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1950, and was an active member of Elgin Missionary Baptist Church. Bonnie was known for her love of quilting, traveling, bluegrass music, and her passion for cooking for everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wenston Dison, her son Clifton Dison, her mother Virta Crunk, her father Porter Glover, her brother Roger Crunk, and her sister Sandy Crabtree.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Pat Yarbrough (Kenny) and Samantha Elam (James), as well as her grandchildren, Craig Yarbrough (Brianna), Caleb Yarbrough, Sara-Grace Robbins (Michael), Jacob Elam, and David Elam, and her great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Rylie Kate, and Leland, and many adopted children.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Elkins East Chapel, with funeral services to follow in the chapel. Bonnie will be laid to rest at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama. Pallbearers will include Craig Yarbrough, Caleb Yarbrough, Tim Dison, Terry Dison, Daniel Hollingsworth, and Anthony Hollingsworth. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Stan Kiefer.
Bonnie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses in the ICU department at Helen Keller Hospital for their empathy, compassion, and exceptional care during her 17-day stay.
