Cathy Marian Flippo Brewer, 70, of Killen, AL, passed away on December 1, 2025. Cathy was a beloved member of her community, known for her love of Alabama Football, music, traveling, shopping, sewing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She was especially devoted to her daughters and grandchildren, whom she cherished as the best Memaw to Colin, Colton, and Anna Claire. Cathy was a retired school bus driver, having touched the lives of many children during her time at Rogers School and the University of North Alabama. She was also a dedicated member of the Church of Christ.
Cathy was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Johnny Alan Brewer, her parents Alton Flippo and Bennie Ruth “Monk” Flippo, and her brother Ronald Flippo. She is survived by her daughters Cassie Chamblin (Tony), Anna Humphries (Tobey), her grandsons Colin Chamblin (Lauren) and Colton Chamblin (Madi), her granddaughter Anna Claire Chamblin, her sister Sheila Butler (Dennis), special friend Tommy Coker, and many cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will include Colin Chamblin, Colton Chamblin, Tony Chamblin, Tobey Humphries, Dennis Butler, Chad Butler, and Kevin Short. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
