City Council Meeting in Lawrenceburg

During the regular session on Thursday, the Lawrenceburg City Council convened and successfully approved all items listed on the agenda. One of the significant approvals was a resolution greenlighting the emergency purchase of a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD CC work truck by the Sanitation Department. This purchase was deemed necessary to replace a truck that was unfortunately totaled in a work-related accident.

Additionally, another resolution passed during the meeting authorized the Lawrenceburg Fire Department to seek funding through the Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The purpose of this grant application is to acquire a brush truck for the department’s use in enhancing their firefighting capabilities.

Furthermore, a resolution accepting a bid from Doss Brothers Construction was approved. The bid, totaling $219,635, is intended for the construction of a metal building designated for the Fire Department. This construction project aims to provide the department with essential infrastructure to support their operations effectively.

Lastly, a resolution endorsing a Payment in Lieu of Tax Agreement and Lease Agreement between the Industrial Development Board of the City of Lawrenceburg and Magna Structures Tennessee was also passed. This agreement signifies a mutual understanding between the parties involved regarding tax obligations and leasing terms.
