In a significant celebration of local achievement, Mayor Chaz Molder has officially proclaimed Friday, March 14th, 2025, as “CHS Game Day Cheer Team Day” in the city of Columbia. This honor comes in recognition of the remarkable accomplishments of the Columbia Central High School Cheer Team, which recently secured first place at both the Space Center and Middle Tennessee Regional competitions. Their outstanding performances not only showcased their talent but also earned them a coveted position at the National High School Cheerleading Championship held in Orlando, Florida.
During the national event, the cheer team delivered an exceptional routine that propelled them into the finals, ultimately leading to their historic victory as they claimed their first-ever National Championship title. This achievement marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time any cheerleading squad from Columbia, Tennessee, has reached such heights.
