Authorities in Columbia have apprehended an individual believed to be involved in a tragic hit-and-run incident that took place early on Thursday, September 11, shortly before 5 a.m. The incident occurred on Tom J. Hitch Parkway, close to the River Highlands Apartments. Tragically, the victim, identified as 63-year-old Teresa Nelson, was discovered deceased at the scene after the driver responsible for the collision fled the area.
