Columbia Teen Discovered Unresponsive; Another Arrested on Murder Charges

On Tuesday, April 15th, the Columbia Police Department made public details regarding a tragic incident involving an eighteen-year-old who was discovered unresponsive. The police responded to an emergency call about a shooting that occurred at a residence located on Whatley Street around 5:30 PM. Upon their arrival, officers found Jayden Braden, aged 18, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Maury Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, investigators pursued leads that pointed them to another eighteen-year-old, Alijah Wolfin. Wolfin was located at a residence in Columbia and subsequently taken into custody. He now faces several serious charges, including First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Felony, Reckless Endangerment, and Aggravated Assault Resulting in Death.
