Tennessee State Parks have organized work events at 33 different parks throughout the state this month in support of Tennessee Promise scholars who need to complete their community service hours. Among the parks participating is David Crockett State Park, which is scheduled to host its event on Saturday, June 22.
Individuals interested in joining the Crockett Park event will be engaged in a creek cleanup starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at noon. Participants are required to assemble at the gravel parking lot near Shelter 3, from where they will proceed towards the spillway waterfall at the lake. As the volunteers will be working in the water, it is advised that they wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Additionally, volunteers are encouraged to bring bug spray and water for their comfort.
The event is not limited to Tennessee Promise scholars, and other volunteers are also welcome to participate in this initiative to contribute towards the betterment of the state parks.
