Corrine Steen Campbell, known affectionately as Nana, passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on December 17, 1934, in Florence, Alabama, and was a dedicated member of the Center Star Methodist Church. Corrine served her community as the Lauderdale County Administrator for 30 years and was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Lee Allen Steen and Swanie Mitchell Steen. Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Campbell, her son-in-law, Max Roberts, and her sisters, Dessie Reid and Millinea Wright.
Corrine is survived by her son, Craig Campbell, and daughters, Christi Campbell and Cindy Roberts, all of Killen. She is also survived by her grandchild, Robin Campbell, bonus grandchildren Christin Culbreth, Maelee Mackey, Mackinley Hale, and Hayden Joiner, as well as bonus great-grandchild, Ida Hale, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM in the chapel. The burial will take place at Bluewater Cemetery.
Corrine’s pallbearers will be Chris Joiner, Jeremy Joiner, Heath Malone, David Purser, Patric Frost, Eli Trousdale, and Reece Gore. Honorary pallbearers will be Monty Shelton, Randall Trousdale, Remington Joiner, Cohen Joiner, Carson Joiner, Devan Hale, Chandler Culbreth, Jonathan Mackey, Tyler Gautney, and Brent Smith.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Corrine’s caregivers, Kelsey McDaniel and Jessica Gore, who became cherished members of the family.
