County Commission Endorses Several Resolutions During Special Meeting

On Monday, August 25, the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners convened for a special session, where they unanimously approved all items on the agenda, with each measure receiving 16 votes in favor while two commissioners were absent from the proceedings. Among the significant resolutions passed during this meeting was one that honored the Lawrenceburg Cal Ripken League 10-and-Under All-Stars, celebrating their remarkable achievement of winning the 2025 Tennessee State Championship.

In addition to this commendation, the board also approved a resolution to declare the service weapon of Lt. Anthony Washburn as surplus. This decision paves the way for the weapon to be awarded to Lt. Washburn in recognition of his dedicated years of service with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. Furthermore, the commissioners took additional steps by approving notaries and authorizing a contract with Combined Public Communications, LLC. This contract will facilitate the provision of inmate communication services at the county jail, ensuring that the facility meets the necessary communication needs.
