Cowart Dewitt Jennings, age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Ethridge, TN, and was a partner at Jennings Brothers Farm. Mr. Jennings was a proud member of Mars Hill United Methodist Church and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wesley Jennings and Era Lee Burdick Jennings Weaver, his wife, Jo Ann Chaffin Jennings, and three brothers, Jerry Jennings, Lee Jennings, and Charles Jennings.
He is survived by his son, Richard Jennings (Amy) of Lawrenceburg, TN, his daughter, Pam Baskin (Kelby) of Burlison, TN, four grandsons, Dylan Baskin (Savannah) of Burlison, TN, Kaleb Baskin of Burlison, TN, Samuel Jennings of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Stephen Jennings of Lawrenceburg, TN, and one brother, Cranford Jennings (Betty) of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with Billy Beal officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN, with military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to Christ Life Academy in Lawrenceburg, TN.
