Daniel “Possum” Novem, age 41, of St. Joseph, TN, passed away at home on November 12, 2025. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, and worked with his dad hanging vinyl siding. Possum was of the Baptist faith and found joy in floating, fishing, jeep riding, 4-wheeler riding, and going to yard sales and auctions. He was known for his infectious smile, laughter, and good heart. Possum will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his playful nature.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Julia Novem, his brother Carlous Novem, three children – Isiac, Broxten, and Callie Novem, and his girlfriend Jean Brewer. Possum also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his special uncle, Jerry Clyde Novem.
Funeral services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with Dennis Hanvey and Blake Quillen officiating. Burial will follow in Wade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
Possum’s memory will continue to touch the hearts of those who knew him. His light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. May his memory be a blessing.
Pallbearers will be Carlous Novem, Isiac Novem, Broxten Novem, Kevin Novem, Dewayne Stamps, and Brice Purser. Greg Holden will serve as the honorary pallbearer.
