Darrell Lee Johnson

Darrell Lee Johnson, born on June 24, 1941, in Bradford, PA, passed away on [date of passing]. He dedicated 15 years of his life to serving his country in the Navy, where he served as a photographer on aircraft carriers and also as a chaplain. He was a proud veteran who often shared stories of his service and travels with his loved ones.

After his honorable discharge, Darrell pursued a bachelor of theology degree at Liberty Bible School in Pensacola, FL, reflecting his deep love for the Lord. He was known for his unwavering faith and his passion for sharing the message of Jesus with everyone he met. Darrell also had a love for nature, enjoying activities such as trout fishing and archery, and he often marveled at the beauty of God’s creation.

In his professional life, Darrell was a dedicated employee at Murray Ohio and Jones Apparel before retiring. He is survived by his loving wife, Elsabeth Kirby Johnson, to whom he was married for 59 years, as well as his children Cheryl Anne Johnson Smith, Chris Ward Johnson, and Deborah Johnson Crews. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his sister, Sally Horenn.

A graveside service and inurnment with full military honors will be held at Mimosa Cemetery on Monday, September 29, 2025, with Nathan Holloway officiating.
