Rachel Bridges Lee, the manager of David Crockett State Park, has made the decision to depart from her role in order to take on the exciting challenge of developing and overseeing Devil’s Backbone State Park in Lewis County. With an impressive tenure of 21 years at Crockett Park, where she has held positions as both a Ranger and Park Manager, Lee has been a significant figure in the local community.
Devil’s Backbone, which spans 950 acres, is currently designated as a state natural area. Under Lee’s leadership, it is set to undergo a transformation into the latest addition to the state park system. Her final day at David Crockett State Park was this past Saturday, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in her career.
