Decatur Chiropractor Faces Trial Over Allegations of Poisoning Wife with Lead

The trial of Brian Mann, a 36-year-old chiropractor from Decatur, has officially commenced, as reported by a local news outlet. Mann faces serious allegations of attempting to murder his wife by administering lead as a poison. The charges stem from an incident that took place in September 2022, and Mann has entered a plea of not guilty in response to these accusations.

During the proceedings, the prosecution presented five witnesses, including Hannah Mann, who is 25 years old and the defendant’s wife. In her testimony, she recounted how she began taking daily vitamins provided by her husband, which she claimed caused her to experience severe illness and discomfort. Furthermore, she revealed that during this troubling time, her husband had secured substantial life insurance policies in her name, a fact that was corroborated by a representative from State Farm.

Hannah’s mother expressed concerns about her daughter’s marriage to Brian Mann, describing it as problematic and highlighting the struggles her daughter faced regarding her health. Additionally, a construction company owner testified about the installation of lead walls at Mann’s chiropractic practice. He stated that Mann had been given leftover lead materials and had assured him that he would properly dispose of them.

In a further development, the Hartselle Police Chief testified that he had received samples from UAB Hospital to test for lead in Hannah Mann’s system, although the testing process is still ongoing. In response to the evidence presented, the defense argued that the prosecution has not provided clear proof of lead poisoning, dismissing the case as based on mere assumptions rather than solid evidence.
