Delma Michael, 93, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg. He was a retired Murray Ohio employee and a devoted member of Meadow View Baptist Church. Delma served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was known for his love of the outdoors, wild birds, whittling, and gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Delma was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eli and Missie Bell Magee Michael, his wife, Vernell Wiley Michael, one grandson, Tanner Kyle Michael, one brother, and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Hood (Jeff), his son, Kevin Michael, five grandchildren, Missy Hood Story (Brad), Mae Bell Hood, Daniel Hood, Katie Michael Smith (Grant), and Alex Michael, as well as four great-grandchildren, Shepherd Story, John Daniel Story, Eleanor Smith, and Ivy Kate Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, with funeral services to be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the VFW Honor Guard.
