Tragedy struck Lawrence County as an off-duty sheriff’s deputy lost his life in a fatal motor vehicle accident. The incident occurred in the evening, prompting emergency responders to rush to the scene located at West Gaines Street and Mahr Avenue around 5:30 PM. The collision involved a vehicle and a motorcycle, resulting in the untimely death of Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Ashton Cutcher due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
