Dr. Rivers Malone Lindsey, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 10, 2015, in Florence, AL, aged 99. He was born in Florence, AL on December 21, 1925, to Rivers Malone Lindsey, Sr. and Pauline Cauhorn Lindsey. Dr. Lindsey served in the U.S. Navy as a young Naval pilot during WWII and later attended dental school, practicing dentistry in Florence until his retirement in the 1980s. He was an avid traveler, photographer, golfer, and woodworker, and he will be remembered for his love of flying and electronics. Dr. Lindsey is survived by his five daughters, stepson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Florence First United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 14, 2015. Dr. Lindsey will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
