In Athens, Alabama, a driver operating a Toyota truck experienced a loss of control that resulted in significant damage to a police patrol vehicle. According to reports from the Athens Police Department, the incident unfolded when the driver exited the QuadPlex and crossed over Thomas Street. The truck then went airborne before crashing through a fence and landing directly on top of the patrol car. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. However, it is anticipated that the patrol car will be deemed a total loss due to the extent of the damage. Additionally, a second patrol vehicle was also affected and sustained some damage during the event.
