Elizabeth “Dianne” Maddox Black, 72, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, after a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Ms. Dianne, as she was affectionately known, was a longtime resident of Marks, Mississippi, where she lived with her late husband, Gleen Black, until his passing in 2014. She was a devoted homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Dianne is survived by her two children, Joey Black and Shauanna Black; grandchildren, Shelby Anthony, Drake Black, and Hunter Aldridge; great-grandchildren, Zepplin Anthony, Clyde Aldridge, Dolly Aldridge, and Maddox Aldridge; as well as several sisters and other beloved family members.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Marks Cemetery in Marks, Mississippi, with Elkins Funeral Home assisting the family. Ms. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, G.U. (Jiggs) Maddox, Dorothy and Van Keen, her husband, Glen Black, and her brother, Henry Keen.
