Elkmont Resident Faces Multiple Charges, Including Abuse of a Corpse

In Ardmore, Alabama, a family reported a young woman missing to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, April 17th, 2025. The situation escalated quickly as concerns mounted over the whereabouts of the 18-year-old female, who had not been seen or heard from in some time. Investigators Martin Evans and Cooper Posey took immediate action, following leads to locations frequented by the missing individual.

One significant location in their search was the residence of the young woman’s ex-boyfriend, situated in the 24000 block of Esten Lane in Elkmont, Alabama. Upon arriving at Jonathan Andrew Etter’s home, investigators made a grim discovery: they found the body of the missing teenager. This prompted law enforcement to swiftly obtain a search warrant, during which they uncovered evidence that led to Etter’s arrest.

Currently, Etter faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Abuse of a Corpse, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The 20-year-old from Elkmont has been booked into the Limestone County Jail, where he remains without a set bond at this time. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and it is possible that further charges could be forthcoming as more information comes to light.
