Elliot Ray Clayton

Elliot Ray Clayton, 86, of Leoma, TN, passed away on February 14, 2025, at his home after a prolonged illness. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Elliot was also a retired school bus driver and a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025, with Kaleb Cozart and Tim Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery with Military Honors at Graveside. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 3:00 pm on the same day at Loretto Memorial Chapel.

Elliot is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Clayton, daughters Peggy Hine (David) and Terrie Cozart (Keith), adopted son Michael Hall, brother Roy Leo Clayton, sister Linda Hayes, 9 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Hardiman, granddaughter Jordyn Richardson, parents Floyd and Lena Hayes Kelly, sisters Christine Sanberg and Jewell Jackson, and brother Buster Clayton.

Elliot will be remembered for his dedicated service to his country, his love for his family, and his unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
