Ernestine Barlar, age 86 of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday February 14, 2024 at STRHS in Pulaski.
Ernestine was born January 8, 1938 in Rose Hill, TN to Abe and Irma Smith. She was a member of New Zion Church, a retired hair dresser and loved quilting and working in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents Abe and Irma, her husband Edward Dean Barlar, siblings Lou, Pete, Jr., Robert, Inz, Elise, Faye, Doyle. Ernestine’s family remembers all the love and time she put into planting and growing her flowers. In her later years she would ask “did you water that yet” and “don’t water it too much it might die”. It would be such an honor to fill her gravesite with beautiful flowers so if you fill led, please do so! But in lieu of those flowers please honor her by visiting the elderly, shut ins, the ones in nursing homes, and not only the ones you know but even those you don’t. The hardest thing during their mom’s last years was her loneliness, her desire and need for a friendly smile, even just a few minutes of someone’s day. So in honor of their mom and in lieu of flowers, please visit the elderly in their space no matter where their space is.
Visitation will be 2-6pm Sunday February 18, 2024 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11am Monday February 19, 2024 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with interment to follow in New Zion Cemetery.
