Extension Agency Organizes Angel Tree Initiative to Support Local Animal Shelter

The Lawrence County Agricultural Extension Agency has initiated a heartwarming project known as the Angel Tree, aimed at supporting animals in need at local shelters. This initiative is designed to gather essential supplies for The Doggie House Lawrenceburg Animal Sanctuary, which plays a crucial role in the welfare of shelter animals in the community.

A variety of items are being sought to ensure the well-being of these animals. Among the requested donations are both dry and canned dog food, as well as dog toys that can provide comfort and entertainment. Additionally, the sanctuary is in need of medium and large Kuranda beds to offer a cozy resting place for the dogs. Other necessary items include large contractor trash bags and medical gloves, which are vital for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals.

Community members are encouraged to visit the Extension Agency located at 2385 Buffalo Road, where they can choose an item from the Angel Tree to donate. This collaborative effort not only aids the shelter animals but also fosters a sense of community involvement and compassion for those who cannot speak for themselves.
