Fayetteville Main Street is thrilled to share that the City of Fayetteville, Tennessee, has secured a substantial Downtown Improvements Grant totaling $225,000, contributing to a larger project valued at $300,000. This competitive grant, which is organized annually by Fayetteville Main Street in collaboration with the South-Central Tennessee Development District, is awarded to various communities across the state. It has been a notable period since Fayetteville last received such funding, with the previous grant dating back to 2018, making this an exceptional opportunity for revitalizing the downtown area.
Among the key enhancements planned for the downtown district are initiatives aimed at creating a stronger connection between Stone Bridge Park and the heart of the city. The public improvements will feature increased lighting along the greenway, as well as the introduction of a new parklet in downtown, both of which are designed to bolster public safety and foster a more inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, approximately $150,000 of the grant will be allocated for upgrades to properties within the Main Street district. Starting in January, property owners will have the opportunity to apply for exterior enhancements, with grants available up to $15,000.
To ensure that the improvements have a meaningful impact throughout the area, a dedicated committee will be responsible for selecting the recipients of these grants. As Fayetteville embarks on this exciting journey of downtown transformation, residents and stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed, with further updates expected to be released in December.
