February EMS Statistics Released

In February of this year, Lawrence County EMS experienced a notable surge in call volume compared to the same month in 2023. The number of requests escalated from 487 to 538, as revealed in their monthly service report. Throughout February, EMS handled a total of 538 requests, with 359 patients being transported. Additionally, they responded to 56 public assist calls, 50 refusal of transport calls, and 8 fire standby, law enforcement assistance, and mutual aid requests.

The month also saw the completion of various educational opportunities. Employees underwent mandatory training on emergency driving tactics, while EMS staff participated in sessions on airway management, ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring conducted by instructors from St. Thomas Health.
