February Statistics for Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services

The Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has published its statistics for the month of February, revealing a total of 544 service requests. Out of these requests, the department successfully transported 377 patients to various medical facilities. In addition to local transfers to Southern Tennessee Regional in Lawrenceburg, the transport breakdown included 49 patients sent to Maury Regional, 5 to Southern Tennessee Regional in Pulaski, 14 to North Alabama Medical Center, and 43 patients transported to facilities in other counties.

The data also indicates that there were 102 instances where patients refused care or did not require any medical attention. Furthermore, there were 59 calls that were either canceled or resulted in no patient being found. The department also responded to 8 requests for fire standby, law enforcement assistance, and mutual aid. Notably, the call volume for February showed consistency when compared to the previous year, 2024.

In terms of professional development, February offered several continuing education opportunities for EMS personnel. These included training on emergency vehicle operations, airway management and ventilation, hemodynamics, as well as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support course. Additionally, the Lawrence County EMS engaged in three community outreach events, where they educated approximately 75 students about EMS careers and essential lifesaving skills. The month also saw the addition of six new hires to the Lawrence EMS team, further strengthening their capacity to serve the community.
