Fire Causes Damage to Spring Hill Residence

In the Ray Williams neighborhood of Spring Hill, a home faced damage due to a structure fire that broke out on a Tuesday afternoon. The Spring Hill Fire Department swiftly responded to the scene after smoke detectors inside the residence alerted the occupants to a fire originating in the garage area at approximately 1:25 PM.

Upon arrival, firefighters acted promptly to contain the blaze, successfully preventing its spread to other sections of the building. In a commendable display of rescue efforts, the firefighters also saved two rabbits and two cats from the premises, ensuring the safety of all individuals and pets involved.

Residents in need of operational smoke detectors in their homes are encouraged to reach out to their local fire department for assistance. Collaborating with the Tennessee Fire Marshal’s Office, local departments are conducting a “Smoke Alarm Blitz” through the Get Alarmed program, an annual initiative aimed at saving lives by providing and installing functional smoke detectors free of charge.

To avail of this crucial service, individuals requiring working smoke detectors in their homes can contact their local fire station directly or send a message through the Lawrence County Fire & Rescue Tennessee Facebook page. This proactive approach to fire safety underscores the importance of early detection and prevention measures in safeguarding lives and property.
