Flood Watch Issued for WLX Listening Area from Friday to Saturday Morning

The National Weather Service has announced a Flood Watch that will be in effect from Friday morning until Saturday morning, impacting several counties within the WLX listening area. In Tennessee, the counties affected include Lawrence, Giles, Wayne, Lewis, Maury, Marshall, Bedford, and Hickman. Meanwhile, in Alabama, the watch covers Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, and Madison counties.

The forecast indicates that excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding, with creeks and streams likely to overflow their banks. Additionally, low-lying areas and urban regions may experience flooding as well. Residents can expect rainfall amounts ranging from 1.5 to 3 inches, with the possibility of even higher totals in certain locations.

Rain is anticipated to begin Thursday night, gradually intensifying throughout Friday, with the most significant downpours expected on Friday night.
