Florence Fire and Rescue Responds to Blaze at Local Structure

On Sunday, December 22nd, at approximately 1:15 PM, emergency crews from stations #1, #3, and #5 were dispatched to a residential fire located on the 2200 Block of North Wood Avenue in Florence. Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered a significant blaze that was aggressively consuming the front portion of the house, posing a serious threat to the structure’s interior.

Responders acted swiftly, managing to bring the fire under control within a matter of minutes. As additional personnel arrived on the scene, they established a reliable water supply, ventilated the building to clear smoke, and initiated a thorough primary search of the premises. During this search, one family pet was discovered and safely removed from the hazardous environment. The pet was administered oxygen on-site before being transported by Animal Control for urgent veterinary care.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to either civilians or firefighters during this incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this alarming event.
