Floyd Junior Hannah

Floyd Junior Hannah, a beloved resident of Greenhill, AL, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on January 22, 1942, to Floyd and Shelby (McMurtrey) Hannah. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda McGee Hannah, and his faithful dog “Foxy”. He is survived by his wife Kathie Hannah, stepdaughter Melissa (Aubrey) Morrison, (4) step-grandchildren, aunt Marcella (McMurtrey) Pitts, sister-in-law Melanie Henry, mother-in-law Patricia Cates McConnell, and numerous cousins.

Junior was a lifelong resident of Greenhill and graduated from Rogers High School. He was a dedicated member and deacon at Bluewater Baptist Church in Loretto, TN. After graduating from Northwest Alabama State Junior College in Phil Campbell, he served in the Army as a Specialist Four (SP4) and sergeant, and later in the Army Reserves. Junior worked at Barr & Tune Architects in Florence and then went on to teach drafting at Allen Thornton Vocational School in Killen, AL, where he retired in 1997 after 28 years. He also owned and operated Heritage Homes Blueprints & Drafting.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Bill Barlow officiating. Burial will take place at Greenhill Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Judy Rogers, Tammy Cabler, and Myra McDougal for their support and care over the last few weeks. They also express gratitude for the care and kindness shown by Affinity Hospice during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Greenhill Senior Citizens Center or a preferred charity. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Floyd Junior Hannah will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
