Recently, a Dollar General store located in Five Points fell victim to a fraudulent scheme. An individual entered the store with two counterfeit $100 bills, which raised suspicions among customers. Witnesses reported that the man, after presenting the fake currency, discarded the remaining bills onto the ground before hastily departing the scene in a vehicle. In total, eleven counterfeit bills were discovered, all marked with the words “prop money.” In light of this incident, the store manager has been urged to implement a thorough verification process for all large denomination bills received in order to mitigate the risk of similar occurrences in the future.
