Gary Van Banks, a beloved resident of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Howenwald, Tennessee on November 25th, 1948, Gary was a devoted family man, a God-fearing individual, and a hardworking member of his community. He had a passion for coaching youth baseball and was known for his love of western movies.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery at 2:00pm.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bertha Carpenter Banks, his wife, Lois Banks, and his brothers, Thomas Banks and Randall Banks. He is survived by his wife, Jean Banks, his sons, Jeremy Banks and Gary Lane Banks, his brother, Joe Glen Banks, his sister, Betty Malone, his brother, Jerry “Sparky” Banks, and his step-children, Tabitha Bassham, Matt Davis, Sabrina Davis, and Delois Davis. Additionally, he is survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Gary’s name to the charity of your choice. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Gary Van Banks. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
