GCSD Launches Foundation for Junior Sport Shooting Initiatives

The Giles County Sheriff’s Department, in collaboration with American Legion Post 60, is taking significant steps to create a Junior Sport Shooting Foundation aimed at introducing the 3-Position Air Rifle discipline to young people in the Giles County region. This initiative will focus on teaching essential skills such as firearm safety and shooting accuracy, ensuring that participants not only learn the sport but also understand the importance of responsible firearm handling.

Young individuals between the ages of 10 and 18 are encouraged to take part in this exciting opportunity. The participation fee is set at $55, making it accessible for many families. Interested applicants can find the necessary forms at various locations, including the sheriff’s department, American Legion Post 60, and numerous local businesses throughout the area. This program promises to be a valuable experience for youth, fostering both skill development and a sense of community involvement.
