Gershon “Gus” Klotwog, 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024. Born on August 10, 1938, in Nashville, Gus was a respected entrepreneur and cherished community member. He graduated from Howard High School in 1958 and honorably served in the U.S. Army until his discharge in 1968.
Gus was a true self-made man, having founded and owned several successful businesses including Gus Furniture Showroom, Gus Auto, and numerous real estate properties. Additionally, he contributed his expertise to Met Life as an agent and manager. Gus was known for his ability to befriend strangers and his love for sharing the latest stock report. His unwavering support for the Vanderbilt Commodores was well-known among his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Johns Klotwog; daughters, Tish Klotwog Maddox (David) and Sandi Klotwog (Tom Luberda); granddaughter, Kate Maddox; grandson, Ben Maddox; step-grandsons, Jakob and Zak Luberda; and brother, Erwin Klotwog. Gus was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Sarah Klotwog, and siblings, Charles, Estelle, and Florinne.
A private service and burial are planned. Bennett-May & Pierce of Pulaski, Tennessee, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice, honoring Gus’s love for dogs.
