Giles County Libraries Awarded Grant Funding

In a joint announcement, State Senator Joey Hensley, State Representative Clay Doggett, and Secretary of State Tre Hargett revealed that Giles County Libraries have been awarded Training Opportunities for the Public Grants totaling $19,161. The Ardmore, Tennessee Public Library is set to receive $4,272, which will go towards covering the expenses of digital literacy instructors and Wi-Fi hotspots. Meanwhile, the Giles County Public Library will benefit from $14,889 to support digital literacy instructors, Wi-Fi hotspots, and internal internet connections.

These grants, funded by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and administered through the Secretary of State’s office, aim to address the specific needs of Tennessee public libraries and their communities. The funding can be utilized for various purposes, including digital literacy training, hotspots, solar charging stations, and enhancing internet access within the library facility.
