In a joint effort, the Giles County School System is teaming up with various law enforcement agencies and emergency services for an active threat drill scheduled for June 28, 2024, at Southside Elementary School. The collaboration includes the Giles County Sheriff’s Department, Pulaski Police Department, Department of Homeland Security, Pulaski Fire Department, and Giles County Emergency Services, which encompasses EMS, OEM, and County Fire and Rescue.
The primary objective of this drill is to bolster the preparedness and response capabilities of local emergency services in the face of a potential real-life active threat situation. Throughout the day, a wide array of emergency vehicles and personnel will be engaged in the exercise in close proximity to Southside Elementary School. This comprehensive drill aims to simulate a realistic scenario to ensure that all agencies involved are well-equipped to handle any active threat effectively.
