Girl Scouts Commemorate Girl Scout Sunday

On March 9, the Girl Scouts of Lawrence County marked Girl Scout Sunday with a special gathering at Ingram Sowell Elementary School. This annual event is not only a celebration but also an opportunity for the girls to engage in a meaningful service project. This year, the scouts took the initiative to assemble “Birthday in a Bag” gifts intended for the residents of Grace House, showcasing their commitment to community service.

In addition to the project, the event featured several local women who generously shared their professional experiences and insights with the young scouts. This interaction provided the girls with valuable perspectives on various career paths, inspiring them as they look toward their futures. The combination of service and mentorship made for a memorable day, reinforcing the values of community and leadership that are central to the Girl Scout mission.
