Glen Douglas Young

Glen Douglas “Doug” Young, 63, of Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his residence. Born on March 7, 1962, in Nashville, TN, to Glen and Betty Watson Young, Doug was known for his loving and joyful spirit. He found happiness in the simple things, whether it was spending time with friends at Five Points Market, chatting with Aunt Mary Ann, or enjoying the company of his housemate Ron and his family.

Doug had a sweet tooth and was particularly fond of vanilla milkshakes, cakes, and sodas, especially Sundrop and Dr. Pepper. He enjoyed watching classic TV shows like The Price is Right, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. A faithful member of St. Andrew Community Church, Doug found joy in uplifting and encouraging others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Evans Young and Betty Ruth Young. Doug is survived by his nephew Justin Tyler Young, Justin’s wife Kaitlin, and their children Elaina and Mercy Young, all of Pulaski. He is also survived by his caregiver Michelle Banks, housemate Ronald Beard, brother Donald Maurice Young (Mitzi) of Nashville, and many cousins, church family, and community friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:30pm on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 3:30pm. Interment will take place in Pisgah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Special Olympics.

Doug’s loving and kind-hearted nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Carr and Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
